Glytone's Micro-Peel Serums are daily at-home peels formulated with key active acids - Mandelic, Lactic and Tranexamic - to target and treat common skin concerns.
Discover all there is to know about these made-to-measure formulas designed to help you achieve a glowing skin transformation, no dermatologist visits necessary.
Q: What are Micro-Peel Serums?
A: Think of Micro-Peel Serums as a clinical strength exfoliator but not quite the professional strength of an in-office chemical peel. Designed to promote overall skin health and provide sufficient results as part of any skincare routine or enhance in-office treatment results. With three potent, clinically proven* formulas, there's a peel for everyone from dull, dry skin to discoloration to sensitive skin.
Q: Which Micro-Peel Serum is right for my skin?
A: For discoloration and dark spots, we recommend TranEXamideTM Discoloration Treatment Serum. Formulated with 3% Tranexamic Acid, 1% Kojic Acid and 5% Niacinamide to help reduce the appearance of darks spots, skin discoloration and correct uneven skin tone caused by sun damage.
For redness and sensitivity, we recommend Mandelic Gentle Resurfacing Serum. 10% Mandelic Acid, Phytic Acid, and plant extracts visibly reduce redness, while evening tone and texture.
For dry and dull skin, we recommend Lactic Superficial Retexturizing Serum. 10% Lactic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid and Rosemary & Tea Tree Oil gently exfoliate, while hydrating and brightening for a more radiant, even glow.
Q: How do I layer these serums into my daily routine?
A: Micro-Peel Serums are extremely versatile and can be added into any skincare routine. However, if you use other acids or topical prescriptions, we recommend alternating the use with Micro-Peel Serums instead of layering the products. Here are our routine recommendations:
TranEXamideTM Discoloration Treatment Serum works with the Brightening Collection to target dark spots. Cleanse with Enhance Brightening Cleansing Powder, then treat the skin with Enhance Brightening Complex. The last step of your morning routine should always be SPF, we recommend Age Defense UV Mineral Sunscreen Serum Broad Spectrum SPF 50+. At night, apply TranEXamideTM Serum.
Mandelic Gentle Resurfacing Serum pairs well with C+ Advanced Antioxidant Serum. The double serum step will help soothe sensitive skin. In the morning, cleanse with Mild Cream Cleanser, then apply Hydra Lipid UV Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40+ to help keep skin hydrated and protected.
We recommend using Lactic Superficial Retexturizing Serum with Mild Gel Cleanser, then treat with HA+ Soothing Hydra Cream. The hydrating properties of Hydra Lipid UV Mineral Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40+ make it the ideal last step. At night, apply Lactic Serum.
Q: Are they for daytime or nighttime use?
A: Due to their high acid concentrations, these serums are recommended for use in the evening. Because they are promoting skin cell turnover, they may increase skin's sensitivity to the sun and make skin more vulnerable to sun burn.
Q: How long until I see results?
A: That depends on your skin concerns and goals. Tranexamic Acid is clinically proven to improve dark spots by 20% after 56 days*, however, you should see an immediate brightening effect when using the TranEXamideTM Discoloration Treatment Serum.
You can expect brighter, more hydrated and healthy skin quickly when using Mandelic Gentle Resurfacing Serum and Lactic Superficial Retexturizing Serum. Stay consistent by applying each night and follow up with sunscreen the next day!
Q: Can I use them with Retinoids or AHAs?
A: Micro-Peel Serums should not be layered with other active acids unless recommended by a medical professional. We recommend alternating application of active acids in the daytime and Micro-Peel Serums in the nighttime.
Q: Can I use a Micro-Peel if I have sensitive skin?
Mandelic Gentle Resurfacing Serum is an excellent option if you have sensitive skin.
Like every Glytone product formulated with Active Acids, we recommend performing a patch test before incorporating it into your routine if you're concerned about skin sensitivity or have a history of allergic reactions.
Q: What's the difference between an in-office peel, Rejuvenating Mini Peel Gel and the Micro-Peel Serums?
A: In-Office Peels are non-invasive treatments that penetrate deep into the skin. Tingling, itching or heating sensations may be experienced during the peel and flaking may occur 3-14 days post-treatment.
Rejuvenating Mini Peel Gel is an at-home peel that can be used 2-3 times a week. Formulated with 10.8% PFAVTM Glycolic Acid to retexturize and rejuvenate for smoother, younger-looking skin.
Micro-Peel Serums combine the efficacy of an in-office peel with the at-home experience of Rejuvenating Mini Peel Gel. The three targeted formulas allow you to customize your routine depending on your concerns and are safe enough for daily use!
